Going to the Emerald City

In case you haven’t heard, emerald is the color of 2013. Pantone, the color authority, describes Pantone 17-5641 Emerald as “Lively. Radiant. Lush…A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.”

I can’t help but to think that emerald’s description serves as a bit of a suggestion for life in 2013. Perhaps 2013 will be a year to focus on living a balanced and harmonious life. In addition, basic color pyschology suggests that the color green invokes feelings of growth, relaxation, and rejuvenation…oh my! That being said, emerald green accents would make for a great addition to your work space.  If you can, try painting a bookshelf or cabinet in this lush color. Feelings of rejuvenation and growth will reflect in your work and you will be feeling like a brainiac in no time!

DIY furniture refinishes not your thing? Just go ahead and incorporate this gem of a color into your wardrobe through small accents, like…

Perhaps you are bit more courageous and prefer to have your outfit pack a colorful punch.  Amp up your basic items such jeans, tunics, and sweaters in this bold hue to create a magically alluring effect.

Surely, emerald green is the color that is bound to get your very fashionable heart racing this year.
